    As we all know, the conditions under which an explosion occurs are composed of three factors: the source of ignition, such as static electricity; fuel, such as hydrocarbon gas; and oxygen, which is sufficient to support the combustion of combustible gas to a certain extent. Therefore, as long as the elimination or control of any of the above three factors can achieve the purpose of preventing the explosion.

    FromAfter the TWA800 disaster in 1996, the inert gas generation system was born. In the field of aerospace, people often use oxygen sensors to detect the oxygen concentration in the target environment in real time and strictly control it within 5%. For example, the oxygen sensor of SST has been used to control the oxygen level in the aircraft oil tank to greatly reduce the possibility of igniting fuel vapor in the aircraft oil tank due to static electricity or other events. Of course, a similar approach can be used by the marine industry, which seeks to keep the atmosphere within non-explosive limits. For this reason, it is still necessary to check and control the oxygen and hydrocarbon gas content in the fuel tank and cargo tank.

     

    In accordance with the relevant amended regulations,New oil tankers of 8000 tons and above (transporting goods with low flash point below 60 ℃) should be equipped with inert gas system.
